In the “OSB” category we present different types of boards. OSB (Oriented Strand Boards) are pressed wood-based composite panels. They are made of turned longitudinal fibers (usually spruce or pine) conjointed with special synthetic resins. Their surface can be smooth or porous and its edges are differently finished (for blade and groove, double sided or milled).

To create a consistent and durable connection, usually the boards are subjected to ironing at high temperatures and under high pressure. It is also important to select appropriate chips so that they have a similar size. OSB usually consists of three layers. The secret of its resistance is that the chips in the middle layer are arranged perpendicularly to the chips in the outer layers - it significantly increases stiffness and durability.

Depending on the application and creation techniques, there are several types of OSB:

- OSB 1 - boards for dry and covered interiors, do not carry loads. The binder here are urea-formaldehyde resins that will not be resistant to humidity without preservation.

- OSB 2 - it is recommended to use them mainly in the interior but if you want to use them in places exposed to moisture, it requires additional impregnation beforehand. This is due to the application of resin chips that are not water resistant.

- OSB 3 - they can be used both indoors and outdoors, even in high humidity conditions. They can also be used as bearing plates. It is characterized by high resistance - mainly due to the fact that polyurethane adhesive (inner layer) and melamine urethane resin (outer layers) are used as the binder.

- OSB 4 - they are suitable for carrying even heavy loads, even in damp places. Their chips are very tight bonded, making it the most durable type of OSBs.

OSBs work great on the floor and ceiling. They can be lined up on walls. You can also make furniture out of OSBs.
